Treatment for your pet

We are able to offer urgent appointments at almost any time of day. If your pet is already ill, we will administer rapid treatment, causing as little distress as possible. Regular check-ups can lead to detection and specific treatment of diseases in their early stages.

Outpatient treatment and advice

  • General examinations and treatment of dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, other small rodents, ferrets, birds and exotic pets
  • Free dental check ups for dogs and cats
  • Vaccination for dogs, cats and rabbits
  • Pet passports. health certificates and advice on foreign travel
  • Microchipping (including BioThermo chips)
  • Dietary advice
  • Weight Watching
  • Puppy parties (when available)

Dental care and treatments

  • Ultrasonic plaque removal and extractions
  • Anti-viral treatment for some causes of chronic gingivitis in cats 

Ultrasound

  • We currrently do not have ultrasound equipment because we believe that when this is necessary this examination is best carried out by experts. We are able to quickly refer you to someone with the necessary level of expertise.

X-rays

  • We have invested in state of the art digital processing which gives ultra high quality images and vastly improves our diagnostic ability from X-rays. This also reduces the time patients need to be restrained or sedated for X-ray and costs by decreasing the number of radiographs we need to take.

Surgery

  • Neutering dogs, cats, ferrets and rodents
  • Soft tissue surgery: we can perform most complex soft tissue surgery from cancer operations to organ removal, gastric dilation and caesarain section.
  • Orthopaedic surgery for simple fractures and corrective procedures. For more complicated orthopaedic surgery we are able to rapidly refer you to experts in this field.
  • We have both electrosurgery (diathermy) and cryosurgery equipment which in selected cases reduces the need for traditional surgical techniques.
  • We have an 8 parameter capnograph for monitoring anaesthetics, this means we can monitor your pet's anaesthetic with unparalleled safety.

 

Laboratory diagnostics

  • In-house laboratory for routine blood testing with results within minutes
  • Next morning results for most external laboratory tests
  • Microscopic examination for various parasites in blood, faeces or on the skin
  • Immediate in house tests for the feline leukaemia virus (FeLV) and feline AIDS (FIV)
  • Feline and canine virus testing
  • Urine analysis
  • State of the art blood tests for cancer and heart disease
  • DNA testing for inherited diseases and sexing birds
